Seminar:
Before Entering Shanghai

2015

At 10 o’clock in the morning on August 15, 2015, the Malaysian Alumni Association in Shanghai (MSAS) held the first activity at New Era College for Malaysian Freshmen before the start of the semester in China.

New students this year are mainly getting into the following universities: East China Normal University, Fudan University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. The activity started with a brief introduction of students’ life in Shanghai. After that, all the procedures after arriving in Shanghai were explained to the freshmen. In the final question and answer session, the freshmen and their parents were very enthusiastic in asking questions and received satisfactory answers. In fact, the freshmen were very satisfied with the sharing and briefing session, and the parents expressed their peace of mind that their children will be able to live in Shanghai in the future.

After the sharing session, our association led the freshmen to communicate with the freshmen of Zhejiang University. This activity is very grateful to the students of Zhejiang University and Mr Dong for their assistance, and also opened up opportunities for cooperation with other alumni associations in China. There are currently more than 50 freshmen coming to Shanghai, but due to the wide distribution of freshmen’s campuses, I hope that after coming to China, all freshmen can make good use of the MSAS platform to maintain good contact with students from various universities.
