Freshman Gala Night
2019 Orientation
On September 22, 2019, the Malaysian Students Association in Shanghai (MSAS) held the 2019 Freshman Gala Night — “Night in Shanghai, a city that never sleeps” at Rainbow Hall, 25th floor, Greenland Jiulong Hotel, Hongkou District, Shanghai.
The event was well attended by 140 students from various universities in Shanghai. Surrounded by the most beautiful night scenery of Shanghai, the atmosphere was harmonious and warm. The students not only met new friends from other schools, but also enjoyed refined cuisine.
We would like to express our special thanks to Madam Shikin, vice consul of Malaysia in Shanghai, for coming to this welcome party. In addition, we would like to thank Mr. Yap Zhi Huiand Mr. Khor Shun Li, vice presidents of Maycham, as well as MAC representatives Mr. Qiu Zhi Wei, Mr. Kenny Heah and Mr. Desmond Hor for having a great evening together.
The show was rich and colorful that night. After the speeches concluded, the party kicked off with “Festival Drum Duet” performed by Low Cheng Qing from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Ng Loong Kiat from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This was followed by “Lover” by Jennifer Tan from Tongji University, “You Complete Me” and “Never Grow up” by Ng Shih Ping of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Their beautiful singing swept the audience all along, while the party got livelier at the most exciting moment, lucky draw.
Before the end of the event, we took a group photo. Students from various high schools also organized to take their “alumni photos”. Until the event was officially declared over, the students reluctantly said goodbye to each other.
